Authorities have initiated a murder probe following the demise of a man in Leeds.
West Yorkshire Police responded to a report of suspicious circumstances outside Gargrave Court in Burmantofts at 8.14am, where an individual reportedly assaulted another man who was found on the ground.
Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and discovered a man with severe injuries. He was transported to a medical facility, where he was later pronounced dead.
After conducting investigations at the location, a 51-year-old male was apprehended on suspicion of murder and taken into custody. The homicide and major inquiry team have been looking into the matter and are seeking witnesses who may have observed any unusual activity in or around Gargrave Court during the specified timeframe, as per YorkshireLive.
Detective Inspector Jodie Hayes, heading the investigation, stated: “An incident of this kind understandably raises concerns within the local community, and efforts are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the individual’s death.
“Local officers are actively patrolling the vicinity to reassure residents, and I encourage individuals with any concerns to engage with them.”
