Russia has delivered another threat of World War 3 to Britain, this time targeting Sir Keir Starmer as well. Dmitry Rogozin, a key figure in Vladimir Putin’s circle, criticized Starmer as “ignorant and foolish” for suggesting deploying British troops in Ukraine, potentially making the UK vulnerable to missile attacks from Russia.
Rogozin, a prominent figure in Russia, highlighted historical parallels, stating that even after Russia’s previous defeat, similar actions were not contemplated by England, France, or other countries. Despite labeling Starmer as lacking understanding and wisdom, he warned of severe consequences if the UK proceeded with the plan.
In response, Starmer announced plans for the UK and France to establish military bases in Ukraine, including secure facilities for weapons to aid in the country’s defense. This decision was part of a joint declaration signed in Paris by the UK Prime Minister, French President, and Ukrainian leader after a ceasefire agreement.
Meanwhile, Putin justified Russian military actions in Ukraine as carrying out divine orders during Orthodox Christmas celebrations. He emphasized the soldiers’ mission as defenders of the homeland, framing the conflict as a sacred duty guided by religious beliefs rather than political motives.
Putin’s public appearance alongside high-ranking military officials at the church service further underscored his support for military operations. The event took place at a military site in the Moscow region linked to the GRU, where Putin commended the troops for their service.
Despite escalating covert activities across Europe, with recent incidents involving sabotage and assassination plots, Putin portrayed Russian military actions as sanctioned by higher powers. European security services have raised concerns about Russia’s aggressive tactics, including the coordination of disruptive activities through specialized units within the GRU.
