“Fatal Fire Claims Life in Rhondda Cynon Taf Village”

One individual has tragically passed away following a destructive fire that occurred in a village in Rhondda Cynon Taf. Emergency services swiftly responded to a blaze at a residence in Glenboi near Mountain Ash just before 2 a.m. on New Year’s Eve.

Firefighters worked diligently to extinguish the flames while police secured the area and evacuated residents from nearby homes in the early hours of the morning. Authorities confirmed the discovery of a deceased person inside the property.

The fire department has labeled the incident as “ongoing,” and Aberdare Road will remain closed for an extended period as emergency teams continue to work at the scene.

A collaborative investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway by South Wales Police and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, with support from Rhondda Cynon Taf Council. A perimeter has been established around the site to facilitate investigations once the property is deemed safe to enter.

A fire service spokesperson reported that the initial call came in just before 1:40 a.m., with crews arriving at the scene to find a substantial house fire. The property suffered significant damage, with some parts collapsing.

A police spokesperson stated that emergency services responded to the house fire in Glenboi, Mountain Ash, just before 2:15 a.m. The authorities expressed their condolences to the affected family and community during this challenging time.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service received the distress call at 01:39 a.m. and encountered a well-developed fire upon arrival. Firefighters are still present at the scene, with specialized resources and personnel, including urban search and rescue teams and fire investigators, on site.
