A man, aged 34, has been brought before court on charges of murdering a 65-year-old woman on the night of New Year’s Eve. Police responded to a residence in Maple Gardens, Yateley, Hampshire, at 9:40 am on December 31 after receiving a report of Janet Bowen found deceased at the location. The Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson stated that the victim’s family has been notified and is receiving assistance from law enforcement.
Michael Bowen, residing in Maple Gardens, Yateley, appeared in Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Friday, facing the murder allegation. He has been detained in custody for a future appearance at Winchester Crown Court, with the date pending confirmation.
Authorities reported that on December 31, at 9:40 am, they were alerted to the discovery of Janet Bowen, aged 65, deceased at a Maple Gardens address in Yateley.
