Three pedestrians were struck by a vehicle on a busy road in Bulwell, Nottinghamshire, following a driver’s medical emergency. Emergency services quickly responded to the scene at lunchtime, with police closing the road after the incident. A car, visibly damaged, was cordoned off by police outside a Home Bargain store on Main Street.
East Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched three ambulances to the location, transporting the injured individuals to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. Updates on their conditions, as well as the driver’s status, have not been provided yet.

The driver is believed to have experienced a medical episode while driving, leading to the closure of the road for investigations. The incident occurred shortly after 12:30 pm, with the road closure expected to continue while investigations proceed, as reported by NottinghamshireLive. The road closure spans from the junction with Station Road to Highbury Road, according to Nottingham Travelwise, causing traffic congestion from Jennison Street to Ravensworth Road, according to Inrix.
This incident follows a previous accident in April involving an elderly man in his 80s who was hit by a vehicle on the same road. The man sustained non life-altering or life-threatening injuries and was discharged from the hospital a few days later.
