Formula One sensation Oliver Bearman has disregarded rumors linking him to Ferrari as Lewis Hamilton’s challenging season unfolds. The seven-time world champion has faced difficulties this season with the renowned team, culminating in a non-finish at the Brazilian Grand Prix in the last race.
Hamilton’s struggling season hit a low point in Las Vegas when he qualified in the last position on the grid, marking the first time a Ferrari has achieved this since 2009. This has fueled speculation about Hamilton’s future, especially as Haas driver Oliver Bearman continues to impress in his debut season in Formula One.
Despite the ongoing talk about both drivers’ futures, rookie Bearman has shown nothing but admiration for Hamilton and has called for patience among those pushing for him to join Ferrari.
Bearman achieved his career-best F1 result by securing fourth place at the Mexico City Grand Prix. Since then, he has also finished sixth in Brazil, placing him 11th in the drivers’ standings.
When questioned about his potential future with Ferrari and the possibility of taking a seat with the team if one becomes vacant, Bearman gave a candid response. He emphasized the media’s fluctuating opinions and highlighted his focus on delivering consistent performances and valuable points for his team.
Bearman downplayed his performance in Mexico as “lucky,” acknowledging the team’s strong pace and setting realistic expectations for future races. Despite growing demands for Bearman to join Ferrari, he remains committed to his current team.
Former world champion Jacques Villeneuve commended Bearman’s performance in Mexico, suggesting he belongs in the top tier of racing. Paddock legend Kravitz also expressed confidence that Bearman could eventually replace Hamilton at Ferrari, following a similar path to Charles Leclerc’s promotion within the team.
Former Haas team boss Guenther Steiner echoed these sentiments, endorsing Bearman as a potential replacement for Hamilton based on his impressive track record and clean driving style. Steiner emphasized Bearman’s ability to secure a seat with a leading Formula One team if Ferrari does not offer him a position.
Hamilton’s struggles at Ferrari have intensified the pressure on him, with Leclerc outperforming him in the standings. The upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix presents another opportunity for both Hamilton and Bearman to showcase their skills on the racetrack.
