“Ontario Couple and Dog Embark on Epic North American Van Journey”

An Ontario couple, Alannah MacLean and Kyle Heddle, along with their dog Diesel, chose to embark on a journey exploring North America in a custom-designed van that serves as their home. MacLean described their current lifestyle as akin to living their golden years. While initially planning a brief stay in Labrador before heading to Newfoundland, their visit unexpectedly extended to almost a month due to the captivating experiences and connections they made with the locals.

The couple’s fascination with Labrador was fueled by the people they encountered, providing them with insights into the region’s lifestyle and landscape. Reluctantly bidding farewell to Labrador, MacLean and Heddle have been chronicling their travels across Canada on their YouTube channel, Way of the Roads, offering breathtaking aerial views using a drone.

Their recent videos showcase their exploration of Newfoundland and Labrador, featuring picturesque locations like Bell Island, the Baccalieu Trail, Gros Morne National Park, and the abandoned Trinity Loop theme park. In their Labrador episodes, they ventured close to icebergs, observed wildlife, and journeyed along the Trans-Labrador Highway. With a substantial following on YouTube, they have amassed 23,000 subscribers through 138 posted videos.

The couple’s relationship blossomed during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, leading them to creatively navigate remote dating options due to closures. Bonding over outdoor activities like walks and hikes, MacLean and Heddle eventually decided to embrace their shared love for nature by embarking on an outdoor exploration journey, capturing the attention of an expanding online audience.

Expressing their enthusiasm for their outdoor lifestyle, Heddle remarked, “It’s been incredible so far. We love it out here.” Their adventurous spirit and dedication to documenting their experiences continue to captivate viewers as they immerse themselves in the beauty of Canada’s diverse landscapes.
