Tragic Fire at Swiss Ski Resort: 47 Dead, 115 Injured

Desperate parents frantically searched a devastated ski resort in Switzerland following a tragic incident where 47 people perished and 115 sustained injuries in a fire.

The catastrophic blaze engulfed the basement venue, Le Constellation, in the Alpine resort of Crans-Montana during the New Year’s Eve celebration. Disturbing videos captured individuals inside the packed bar holding champagne sparklers, which reportedly triggered a fire on the ceiling.

As Switzerland commenced five days of national mourning, parents anxiously sought their children. The crowd included young tourists aged 18 and 19, many experiencing their first New Year’s Eve celebration as adults.

Eyewitnesses recounted the harrowing scenes both inside and outside the bar, where partygoers suffered burns and smoke inhalation. Survivors shared chilling accounts of people engulfed in flames and desperately trying to escape the inferno.

While some managed to flee with minor injuries, over 100 individuals sustained varying degrees of harm, with some in critical condition. Concerns grew for those still unaccounted for, with families frantically contacting hospitals in search of their loved ones.

Police investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire at Le Constellation, a venue equipped with combustible wooden furnishings and foam ceiling material, featuring a single narrow staircase for evacuation.
