In 1997, Holly, then a 21-year-old student at the University of Kentucky, encountered Angel Maturino Resendiz, one of America’s most wanted serial killers. After a party in Lexington, Holly and her boyfriend, Chris Maier, found themselves at a railway track where their lives took a tragic turn.
Approached by Resendiz, who demanded money and subsequently restrained Chris, Holly found herself in a life-threatening situation. Despite her fear and panic, Holly managed to free her hands as Resendiz attacked Chris, resulting in a fatal blow to her boyfriend.
Subsequently, Holly endured a horrific ordeal of assault and violence at the hands of Resendiz, leaving her with severe injuries and trauma. Despite the brutal attack, Holly demonstrated remarkable resilience and presence of mind, which ultimately led to her survival.
Following the incident, Holly’s determination and bravery played a crucial role in identifying and bringing Resendiz to justice.
