Teenage girl falls from ambulance on M6 motorway

A teenage girl was swiftly taken to a hospital following an incident where she reportedly fell from an ambulance on a busy motorway. The situation unfolded on the M6 southbound at junction 32, connecting to the M55, during the evening hours on Tuesday. Fortunately, the girl’s injuries are believed to be minor, according to reports.

Lancashire Police responded to the scene of a road traffic collision, leading to the closure of the motorway for an extended period as authorities assessed the circumstances. Commuters were advised to steer clear of the area and seek alternate routes until the situation was resolved.

The incident was initially reported at 5:17 pm, and by approximately 7 pm, all lanes were reopened for traffic, as confirmed by Lancs Live. In an updated statement, Lancashire Police stated that a teenage girl had fallen from the back of an ambulance onto the M6 southbound to M55 slip road but had thankfully not sustained serious injuries.

In a separate incident, a woman in her sixties tragically lost her life following a collision in a layby, leading to the arrest of a man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. The fatal crash, involving a grey Porsche Cayenne, a red Fiat 500, and a white Volvo Tipper lorry, occurred around 8:50 am on Monday between Hertford and Broxbourne.

The driver of the Fiat, a woman in her sixties, was outside her vehicle when the collision happened, and despite efforts from emergency services, she passed away at the scene. Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are urging any witnesses or individuals with relevant information to come forward to assist in the investigation.

The driver of the Porsche, a man in his sixties, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released on bail pending further inquiries. DC Lewis Stanley from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit is encouraging witnesses to provide any information they have, including dashcam footage, to aid in the investigation.

Witnesses can contact officers by emailing DC Stanley with reference to ISR 110 of January 5, reporting information online, engaging in online web chat with the Force Communications Room, or calling the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, individuals can provide anonymous tips by reaching out to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or by using their untraceable online form.
