A number of Sky customers are currently facing an annoying bug impacting the widely-used ITVX app. The issue seems to have emerged recently, with users reporting instances where their viewing is abruptly cut short as the program skips to the end unexpectedly. This glitch disrupts the viewing experience as viewers find themselves suddenly at the credits without any intentional fast-forwarding.
Sharing their concerns on Sky’s forum page, a Sky user named Dazzasky mentioned, ” ITV Player randomly skips ahead, usually right to the end of the episode and is making it quite difficult tbh,.. this has been happening for the last 4 or 5 days.”
Another Sky customer named Dawn added, “Is anyone else having issues watching programmes on ITVX for the last 3 days programmes? I’m watching then jumped to the end randomly and then showing as watched it usually happens at the beginning of the programme or straight after an ad break.”
The issue seems to be affecting users with Sky’s online devices, such as Sky Stream boxes and Glass TVs. While it is uncertain if Sky Q is also impacted, most complaints are coming from users with devices connected via broadband rather than satellite dishes.
The cause of the disruptions is currently unknown, but a Sky representative named Kev has intervened in the online discussion, acknowledging the problem and assuring users that efforts are underway to address it.
In a post, Kev stated, “Hi Everyone,” expressing appreciation for users flagging the issue. He further added, “We can understand how frustrating this must be and have escalated the problem to our support teams. They will collaborate with ITV to resolve the issue. As soon as I have more information, I’ll update everyone.”
For now, users may have to endure the skipping problem, but a resolution is hopefully forthcoming.
