Two young men, identified as “idiot” brothers, caused a severe accident that left a teenage girl with critical injuries while engaging in a high-speed race on the Sandbanks peninsula in Poole, Dorset. The incident took place on Boxing Day in 2023, with Harrison Taylor, 19, driving a Mercedes A200 and his older brother, Henry, 21, in a BMW 135i. The court revealed that the brothers had received the powerful cars as gifts to help them cope with their parents’ separation.
During the race, Harrison lost control of the Mercedes at a speed of around 90mph, crashing into a gatepost of a luxurious mansion. Subsequently, the BMW collided with the Mercedes, propelling it into a garden wall. A 17-year-old girl named Mia Savage, who was a passenger in the Mercedes, suffered severe injuries, including a shattered left femur, neck fracture, broken arm, ribs, and internal bleeding, among other serious conditions.
Mia underwent extensive surgery and a prolonged recovery process, which impacted her education and future opportunities. Despite the gravity of the situation, the Taylor brothers admitted to causing serious injury by dangerous driving. They appeared in court and received suspended sentences, along with a three-year driving ban.
