“Tragic Murder-Suicide: Father and Son Found Dead”

A tragic incident unfolded in West Dublin as a young boy, identified as Oisin O’Reilly, 11, was found dead at a residence in Lindisfarne Grove, Clondalkin. His father, Wayne O’Reilly, 48, was also discovered deceased at a property in Cherry Orchard, Ballyfermot. Authorities suspect that Wayne took his own life after the incident in Clondalkin.

The police were notified of the situation in Clondalkin, where Oisin was found deceased from asphyxiation. Both father and son had been reported missing to the Gardai in the past year before being located safe, as reported by the Irish Mirror.

The heartbreaking scene in Clondalkin saw the removal of Oisin’s body in front of shocked neighbors, with Garda Technical Bureau present for investigation. A close friend of Wayne O’Reilly expressed deep sorrow over the tragic events, highlighting Wayne’s deteriorating mental health in recent years.

Local councillors expressed their condolences, acknowledging the community’s shock and grief. The incident is currently being treated as a murder-suicide, with authorities not seeking any other individuals in connection with the deaths.

In an official statement, the police confirmed the investigation into the discovery of the two bodies, one in Ballyfermot and the other in Clondalkin. The bodies have been preserved for forensic examination, with post-mortem examinations to follow to aid in the investigation under a Senior Investigating Officer.
