Tornado specialists have verified that a tornado touched down in the vicinity of Kemptville, Ontario, on the previous Sunday. The tornado was spawned by a passing storm that caused destruction to wooded areas and farmlands, as reported by the Northern Tornadoes Project (NTP) of Western University. An assessment of tree damage suggested that the tornado achieved peak wind speeds of 115 km/h along a brief, narrow trajectory, researchers revealed. They approximated the tornado’s onset at 3:45 p.m., with a journey spanning 1.18 kilometers to the northeast. The team assigned the incident an EF0 classification on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, which is the least severe category for rating tornadoes and downbursts, ranging from EF0 to EF5. According to the NTP, no injuries were documented. Over the weekend, Environment Canada had alerted for a yellow-level rainfall warning in eastern Ontario and western Quebec, cautioning of potential rainfall between 50 and 100 millimeters.
