A prisoner who had escaped from prison has been apprehended and taken into custody by the authorities, as confirmed by the police.
Kieran Cameron, aged 43, absconded from HMP Thorn Cross in Warrington, situated between Liverpool and Manchester, on January 6. He was serving a 23-year prison term for an attempted murder in Dorset back in 2016.
Cheshire Police had requested the public’s assistance in locating Cameron and cautioned against approaching him. However, in a recent update, the police announced that he was discovered in the Hulme area of Greater Manchester and subsequently arrested. The police stated, “We are pleased to report that the individual who absconded from HMP Thorn Cross has been apprehended.”

Cameron had been imprisoned for his involvement in an assault in February 2016, where he and another individual, Michael O’Rourke, viciously stabbed a 22-year-old man from Poole multiple times.
During the court proceedings, it was revealed that both Cameron and O’Rourke were facing threats from a rival gang. They targeted the victim, known to them, with the intention of shifting blame to their adversaries. The victim sustained 10 stab wounds to various body parts during the attack in February 2016.
Detective Sergeant Jamie Halford from Bournemouth CID expressed satisfaction with the court’s sentencing decision, emphasizing zero tolerance for violent knife-related crimes. He commended the swift actions of the public who assisted the victim and the exceptional medical care provided by Poole Hospital staff.
