Three individuals lost their lives in separate traffic accidents in Quebec overnight. In the early hours, around 12:30 a.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a location on Route 132 East near Chemin Mistral in Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse. The Sûreté du Québec reported that a vehicle had skidded off the road, leading to the tragic incident. Sadly, the sole occupant, a 35-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was temporarily closed following the accident but was reopened by 4:45 a.m.
Later, at approximately 3:20 a.m., emergency services were summoned to a single-vehicle crash on Route 138 near Franquelin. The SQ disclosed that four individuals were in the vehicle when the driver seemingly lost control for unknown reasons. Despite being rushed to the hospital, one person succumbed to their injuries, while the remaining three occupants are currently in critical condition and facing life-threatening circumstances. As a result of the incident, two out of the three lanes in the vicinity were shut down on Sunday morning.
A third vehicle collision was reported around 6 a.m. on Route 138 in Saint-Tite-des-Caps. According to the SQ, the driver of the eastbound-traveling car inexplicably swerved out of their lane, causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times. The car contained a man and a woman in their 30s, both of whom sustained serious injuries and were taken to the hospital. Regrettably, the 37-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries at the medical facility, while the man remains in critical condition.
