Virgin Media is rolling out a major upgrade for its TV platform, offering customers three new bonus channels without any additional charges. This enhancement, powered by Rakuten, introduces three Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) channels, bringing a variety of drama, comedy, and sci-fi content to viewers’ homes.
The new channels include Rakuten TV Drama on channel 462, featuring hit movies like The Big Short, Gosford Park, and JFK. Additionally, Rakuten TV Comedy on channel 463 offers popular comedies such as Big Momma’s House, The Internship, and Bedazzled for viewers to enjoy. Lastly, Rakuten TV: Sci Fi on channel 464 provides a selection of otherworldly content.
Customers with Virgin TV 360 and Flex will automatically receive these channels in their lineup, accessible through the Virgin Media TV guide and voice control search. David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, expressed excitement about the new additions, emphasizing the value and quality entertainment they bring to customers at no extra cost.
With the inclusion of these three new channels, Virgin TV subscribers now have access to a total of 40 FAST channels, enriching their viewing experience with a diverse range of content. While a subscription fee is required for Virgin Media TV services, the expanded channel offerings surpass what is available through free-to-air platforms.
