A leading online beauty retailer is potentially up for sale as reports indicate that advisors have been enlisted to evaluate the company’s future. Established in 1999 by siblings Arron and David Gabbie, Beauty Bay, headquartered in Manchester, showcases over 200 renowned brands like Ariana Grande, Clinique, MAC, and its exclusive product line.
According to a recent update from Sky News, Beauty Bay is actively considering various funding options, including a complete sale of the enterprise. Interpath, the consulting firm, is collaborating with Beauty Bay during this process. The company, which has a staff of 65 individuals, is yet to comment on the matter when approached by the Mirror.
In other news, Malin + Goetz, a popular beauty brand, has recently entered administration and closed all seven of its stores across London, impacting over 70 jobs. Online orders from Malin + Goetz have been temporarily halted with a message on their website informing customers of the situation. However, consumers can still purchase their products through third-party retailers like Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK.
Malin+Goetz’s spokesperson revealed to TheIndustry.beauty, “After conducting a thorough business review and exploring all possible alternatives, we have made the tough but necessary decision to place our UK operations into administration, resulting in the closure of our UK stores and head office. We regret the job losses but find them unavoidable given the circumstances.”
The company’s website is expected to return after a brief maintenance period, although the exact duration remains uncertain. Founded in 2004 in New York by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, Malin + Goetz initially offered six products for all skin types and has since expanded its range to include fragrance, body care, and additional beauty products.
