Amazon is rolling out a substantial upgrade for select Fire TV Stick models to enhance user experience. The update includes a refreshed design with a modern interface, updated typography, redesigned color gradients, and improved homescreen layouts. Users can expect a 30 percent boost in performance for smoother navigation through menus.
In addition to visual enhancements, users can now pin up to 20 apps on the homescreen, an increase from the previous limit of six. Access to Games, Art & Photos, and the Ambient Experience has been simplified through the Menu button on the remote.
Amazon has introduced a new shortcut panel accessible by long-pressing the Home button, providing quick access to Fire TV controls like audio and display settings. The upgraded Alexa assistant, Alexa+, will be available in the UK later this year to improve content discovery.
The Fire TV mobile app is also getting a makeover, allowing users to browse content, manage watchlists, and play titles directly on their TVs. The app’s new look aligns with the updated Fire TV interface, turning smartphones into a second screen for easier content discovery and watchlist management on the go.
The update will initially roll out in the U.S. before expanding to other regions later in the year. Devices set to receive the new Fire TV include the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen), and Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series in the U.S., with plans for wider availability in more countries and on additional Fire TV devices in the spring.
